With the coronavirus reaping absolute havoc in the world, I believe it is extremely important for all of us to put as much effort as possible into our immune-boosting systems.

9 Foods That Will Boost Your Immune System:

1) Citrus Fruits


Citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons, tangerines, limes, and grapefruits are all jam-packed with Vitamin C.

Vitamin C helps boost your immune system by increasing your white blood cells, which are key for helping our bodies fight against infections.

Due to the fact that our bodies do not produce or store Vitamin C, it is very important for us to include Vitamin C rich foods into our daily meal plan.

2) Red Bell Peppers

Red bell peppers are another vegan-friendly food is high in Vitamin C. In fact, red bell peppers have more Vitamin C than citrus fruit. 

This makes red bell peppers an extremely potent immune-boosting food that we should all incorporate into our meal plans. 

3) Broccoli


Broccoli is supercharged with vitamins and minerals. Broccoli is a great source of vitamins A, C, and E, as well as containing plenty of antioxidants and fiber.

Broccoli is one of the healthiest foods to put on your plate. The key to getting the most nutritional value out of your broccoli is to ensure that you don’t overcook it…or even better- eat it raw.

4) Garlic


The immune-boosting properties of garlic seem to come from the heavy concentration of sulfur-containing compounds, such as allicin.

5) Ginger


Ginger is another ingredient that many people turn to when they start to show signs of getting ill. 

Apart from being a great immune booster, ginger also has other health benefits, such as decreasing chronic pain, lowering cholesterol, as well as containing certain anti-inflammatory properties.

6) Spinach


Spinach is packed with Vitamin C, as well as numerous anti-oxidants and beta carotene, which increases the infection-fighting ability of our immune system. Be careful not to overcook your spinach, as this will destroy the nutritional properties of this healthy green leaf.

7) Tumeric

Pumpkin seeds are full of nutrients, including phosphorus, magnesium and Vitamin B-6. They are also incredibly high in Vitamin E which is a powerful antioxidant.
