A quick note to anyone that reads this post:
All businesses are struggling financially, due to the covid 19 lockdown.
So in order to help all of these businesses, please consider sharing this post to your friends and family. I’m sure all of these amazing businesses would REALLY appreciate the help.

Why Shop Online?
A lot of people are absolutely terrified to go out to the shops, due to the fear of catching the COVID 19 virus.
Other people- like myself- can think of nothing worse than standing in a long queue for an hour, wearing a mask, breathing in my own CO2, and poisoning my body with 99% alcohol sanitizer, which gets absorbed into the body through our skin.
Here is a list of my favourite websites that I use regularly, for all my online vegan shopping in Cape Town and surrounds.
If you would like to avoid visiting the grocery store then I think you’ll find this post very helpful.
Table of contents
In this post, I am going to share 8 of my favourite online shopping sites for vegans in Cape Town and surrounds.
Even though this post is for Cape Tonians, most of the websites in this post offer a Nation-wide delivery service.
We will have a look at the following:
> 8 online shopping platforms for all your vegan needs
> A short description of each website with a bit of information on what each company offers
> Contact number of each business (click on the number to call the business directly)
> Email address of each business (click the email address to send them an email directly)
> A link to the order page on each of the websites so you can start placing your orders
I have ordered from each and every one of these businesses so you can take my word for it that they are all really awesome.
My Favourite Websites For Online Vegan Shopping In Cape Town
1) Komati Foods
Komati Foods is a family-run business which specializes in the sourcing, preparation, and packaging of organic healthy snacks.
The people involved at Komati Foods says that supporting a healthy lifestyle and promoting wellness is at the core of what they do.
Their mission is to combine quality and freshness to deliver the very best products at highly competitive prices.
Their trained staff hand pick and pack each order, which guarantees freshness and quality from factory to purchase.
Komati Foods supplies the following items:
Nuts, legumes, superfoods, spices, seeds, grains, fruit rolls, cake ingredients, sweets, vegan yoghurt, and a few other things.
I have ordered 3 times from Komati Foods and I was very impressed by the quality of their products, as well as the packaging and delivery time.
2) Cosmic Bazaar
Cosmic Bazaar is another awesome choice if you are looking for a service that offers online vegan shopping in Cape Town.
The products that you’ll find at Cosmic Bazaar is very similar to Komati Foods, ie. dried fruits, nuts, legumes, spices, superfoods, etc.
Apart from the food items, Cosmic Bazaar also provides things like the following:
I have only shopped once with Cosmic Bazaar (last week) and I was pleasantly surprised by the process and the quality of their products are top-notch.
3) Raw Nutrition
If you are looking for fresh, organic fruits and vegetables then look no further than the team at Raw Nutrition.
I have ordered at least 6 times from Raw Nutrition and I have never had any bad experiences with them.
Their fruits and vegetables are always so fresh and yummy!
Their convenient and reliable ordering system and 6 days-a-week delivery service includes the Atlantic Seaboard, CBD,
Hout Bay, Northern and Southern Suburbs.
U-Cook is another great option for people that are wanting to order all their groceries online.
I placed my first U-Cook order last week and it was so totally awesome. The unpacking of the box was super exciting and it was jam-packed with so many vegan goodies.
The Plant Based Farmers Market Box from U-Cook is R860 and it comes with a whole bunch of stuff, for example:
Fresh organic fruit and vegetables, vegan cheese, vegan mayo, oat milk, bread, and a bunch of other yummy things.
5) Black Olive Foods
The fifth website for online vegan shopping in Cape Town is another supplier of fresh organic fruit and vegetables- Black Olive Foods.
They don’t have the best website, and the ordering process is not the most convenient but when the order arrives on your doorstep, you’ll be very happy. Everything was really fresh and in great condition.
I placed my first order with Black Olive Foods 2 weeks ago.
I ordered the following:
Asparugus, cauliflower, brocolli, kale, green beans, eggplant, and tomatoes.
I see they are running a special for R250 which consists of a whole bunch of fresh fruit and veggies (see the image below).
6) Think Organic
I have ordered Think Organic twice and I haven’t had any reasons to complain. Their fruit and veg is always fresh and the ordering process is quite straight forward.
I really don’t enjoy struggling when it comes to ordering online, and I found the ordering process at Think Organic is pretty easy.
I normally order the mixed fruit and veg bag which consists of a mixture of 9 items- the items change every week but you will get a variety of fruits and veggies. This bag costs R170.
Think Organic offers a wide arrange of items on their websites.
Here are some examples of what you can expect to find:
Bakery goodies, dairy-free foods, herbs, spices, legumes, growing seeds, pet supplies, snacks, condiments, cereals, grains and a few other healthy products.
You can either pick up your orders from one of the many pickup points around the Cape Town area (including Somerset West, Stellenbosch, Franschoek and other places). Have a look at this page to see the pickup points.
They also offer a delivery service which will deliver your groceries straight to your doorstep.
7) Vegan Streetfood
Another one of my all time “faves” for online shopping is the team at Vegan Streetfood.
I have ordered from them well over 10 times and I haven’t had any issues with them…not even once.
Their website is very easy to navigate through and the ordering system is very user-friendly- which is a big bonus for me.
Vegan Streetfood offers a whole bunch of vegan foods and products for your cupboard.
Here are a few examples of what they supply:
Dairy-alternatives, fermented products, superfoods, grains, pastas, hunny (vegan honey), vegan butters, oats/cereal, legumes, meat alternatives, almonds and other nuts. They also sell vegan-friendly apparel like hoodies, bags, caps and other things.
8) The Organic Vegan
Last- but DEFINITELY not least- on today’s list of local businesses that offer online vegan shopping in Cape Town is The Organic Vegan.
This is my personal favourite online shopping service where I do almost all my shopping every week.
Their pricing is very reasonable and I find the website extremely user-friendly, the ordering system is also simple to use and most importantly- the groceries they deliver are so darn good.
